How to use brown wallpaper
Brown has come back with timber, terracotta and natural fibre, and on a wall it is warmer and more forgiving than black. Chocolate and tobacco suit dining rooms, libraries and studies; the lighter walnut and clay browns work in living rooms with cream trim and rust or ochre accents. Most of the browns here are textures, grasscloth, linen and plaster, which is the least risky way to use the colour. A brown ground also makes green and gold patterns glow.
