How to use green wallpaper
Sage and olive are the easy greens: they behave like neutrals, sit well with timber, linen and brass, and suit bedrooms and living rooms you use every day. Emerald and bottle green belong in rooms you pass through or entertain in, a dining room, a powder room, a study, where depth is the point. Check any green against your floor before you commit, because orange-toned timber and a cool green fight each other, and always look at the sample in the room: sage on a screen has a habit of landing khaki on a wall.
Where to start
Of the designs on this page, the most ordered over the last twelve months, in any colourway, were La Palma by Catherine Martin, Sandberg's Gustav, Lo, Rand, Magnus and Wilma; the most sampled were La Palma, Casamance's plain chalky Argile and Långelid/von Brömssen's Hiding Hares. Green by style: forest and woodland, botanical, tropical and jungle and the soft washes in calm and gentle. Neighbouring colours: teal and blue.
Can I get a sample first?
Yes. A4 samples are A$10 each plus A$5 postage within Australia, A$18 to New Zealand and A$35 elsewhere, sent by letter mail and usually with you within a week. Colour is the one thing a screen cannot settle, so we recommend it.
