Wall Murals
A wall mural is a single picture printed across one wall, with no repeating pattern. The murals here come from Rebel Walls and Sandberg in Sweden, Emma Hayes in New Zealand, and a handful of designs from Catherine Martin, Coordonné and Eijffinger. The subjects run from misty forests and cloudscapes to vintage landscapes, large painterly florals, watercolour washes and playful designs for children's rooms. Prices are shown in your own currency on each product page.

Buying guide and questions we are asked
Two ways murals are sold
Most of the murals in this collection, including every Rebel Walls and Sandberg design, are printed to the size of your wall. You enter the wall's width and height on the product page, the quantity is worked out for you, and the mural arrives in strips that hang in order. Sandberg murals can be ordered as paste-the-wall, as peel and stick, or in a commercial grade.
Most Emma Hayes murals, along with Catherine Martin's Nightbird Symphony, Coordonné's Iradato and Eijffinger's Soft Plaster, come at a set size instead, as rolls or panels that hang side by side. You buy as many as it takes to span the width of the wall: an Emma Hayes roll is 2.05 m wide, for example, so a wall up to 4.1 m wide takes two. The size of each roll or panel is on its product page, along with a calculator, and many Emma Hayes designs can also be printed to your wall size in a commercial grade.
How to choose a wall mural
Choose the wall first. A mural needs to be seen whole, so it suits the wall you face when you walk into the room or lie in bed, without a wardrobe or a large painting in front of it. Then think about scale. A scenic mural with a horizon, a forest or a coastline works at almost any size, because you simply see more or less of the scene, while a mural with one large motif needs a wall wide enough to show it. Colour comes last: soft, low-contrast murals such as clouds, washes and pale forests make a bedroom calmer, and dark forests and dramatic skies give a dining room or study a richer, more enclosed feel. Our guide to wallpaper versus wall murals explains when a repeating pattern is the better choice.
Delivery and hanging
Most murals are printed to order. Within Australia, allow three weeks for standard delivery, or choose express for delivery in ten business days. Emma Hayes murals take four to six weeks, so please confirm availability with us before you order one. Delivery times for other countries are shown at checkout.
Rebel Walls murals are not recommended for bathrooms with a shower or bath, and peel and stick murals are not recommended for any bathroom, textured wall or ceiling. Hanging a mural is easier with two people. Our guide to hanging a wall mural covers the order of the strips, or you can book an installer.
Browse murals by subject
Murals are also grouped by subject in forest and woodland, sky and clouds, scenic landscapes and floral murals, and by brand in Rebel Walls, Sandberg and Emma Hayes. The officially licensed Harry Potter™ murals by MinaLima are sold by the roll and have their own collection: Harry Potter wallpaper. If you would like a mural made from your own design or photograph, see custom wallpaper printing.
Questions we are asked about wall murals
What is the difference between a mural and wallpaper?
Wallpaper repeats a pattern along the roll, so any number of rolls make one continuous design. A mural is a single picture with no repeat, either printed to the size of your wall or supplied as a set of rolls or panels that join into one scene.
Can a mural be made for any wall size?
The murals printed to size accept your wall's width and height on the product page. Very tall or very wide walls may show more of the scene or a slight crop, and we are happy to check a design against an unusual wall before you order. For murals sold as rolls or panels, the product page shows how many you need for your width.
Can I get a sample first?
Yes. A sample shows the print quality, the surface and the colour, though not the whole picture. The sample price and postage are shown in your own currency on each product page.
How long does delivery take?
Within Australia, standard delivery takes about three weeks and express takes ten business days. Emma Hayes murals take four to six weeks. Delivery costs and times for your country are shown at checkout.
If you are planning a mural for a particular wall, email hello@wallpapertrader.com or use our contact page. Send the room, the wall's width and height, and a photo if you have one, and we will help you choose a design and confirm how much to order.
