What the design actually shows
Every spine is a real prop design: titles from Harry's school years sit alongside Art Deco covers made for 1920s New York. Read along a shelf and you find A History of Magic, Travels with Trolls, textbooks on defence against the dark arts. It is a library you can actually read, which is why it holds up at close range.
Where it works in a house
The practical one. On a video call it reads simply as a magnificent bookshelf, so it works in a home office in a way the more literal designs do not. It also suits a reading corner, a landing already lined with shelves, or the wall behind a desk.
Hang it where the shelves run true to the room — the illusion depends on the horizontals looking level against your skirting and cornice.
