Casamance is a French editor and manufacturer of fabrics and wallcoverings, one of three brands in the Casamance Group alongside Camengo and Misia, with showrooms in Paris, London and Culemborg. Its wallpapers are quietly luxurious: texture does as much work as pattern, in chalky botanicals, woven and raffia effects, soft geometrics and painterly florals. About Casamance

Casamance launches two collections a year from an in-house studio of colourists and stylists, many of whom have been with the house since it began, and it describes its aim as sophisticated simplicity and modern elegance rather than fashion. Its wallcoverings are made from materials as varied as banana leaf, linen, straw and traditional weaves, and the group is present on five continents through fifteen subsidiaries. Casamance is also a partner of LaM, the museum of modern art in Lille.

What we stock and how it is sold

Most Casamance rolls are 70 cm wide, with a smaller number at 53 cm, 68 cm and 106 cm, and the width, length, repeat and match type are on every product page. Prices run from $340 to $1,990 a roll with a typical design around $550, reflecting the weight of the papers: 72 of our 120 designs carry a metallic thread or foil and 54 are textured. Most designs are non-woven and paste-the-wall, the easiest type to hang and to remove later. Commercial-grade Casamance vinyl for hospitality and retail fit-outs can be quoted through our trade program.

The designs Australians order most

The most ordered Casamance design at Wallpaper Trader over the past year is Jasmin, a trailing painterly floral, followed by Amazone. The palette that sells here leans warm: terracotta, olive, célestine blue and gilded neutrals, and the textured plains are the range designers specify most often behind joinery and headboards.

Before you order

French wallpaper photographs beautifully but colour is everything, so order a sample before you commit. Use the roll calculator with the repeat from the product page; several Casamance designs have large repeats that add a drop per roll. Rolls are supplied from the Australian distributor, so delivery is normally three to four weeks.
