Forest & Woodland Wallpaper
There is a reason forest wallpaper never goes out of style: trees calm a room down. This collection holds 53 designs, almost all of them Rebel Walls and Sandberg, running from misty Scandinavian firs and birch silhouettes to woodland-animal prints for children's rooms and lush fern walls with real depth. Twelve are sold by the roll from $179 and the rest are murals printed to your wall size and priced by the square metre from $106. Every design is available as a $10 A4 sample, with $5 postage within Australia.
Buying guide and questions we are asked
How to choose a forest wallpaper
Decide between a repeating tree pattern and a scene. A repeating design such as Sandberg's Pine is wallpaper in the ordinary sense: it comes on a roll, works on any wall and reads as a pattern from a distance. A forest mural is one picture printed to your wall size, best on the wall you face from the bed or the doorway. Then choose the light. Misty, pale forests suit bedrooms and studies where you want stillness; deep green and near-black forests make a dining room or a reading corner feel enclosed and rich. Greens are the trickiest colour family to judge on screen, because sage on a monitor can land khaki on a wall, so the sample matters more here than anywhere.
The designs people come here for
We keep the collection in a considered order, with the true forest scenes first: Sandberg's Pine, then the Rebel Walls murals Misty Fir Forest, Tranquil Forest, Vintage Oaks, The Green Forest, Whispering Forest, Scandinavian Bellewood and Birch Fog. The forest designs ordered over the last year were two Sandberg rolls, Eken and Hollie, and Pine and Tree of Life were the ones sampled.
What we stock and how it is sold
Sandberg rolls are 53 cm wide and 10.05 m long, non-woven and hung paste-the-wall. Sandberg and Rebel Walls murals are printed to your wall size, and the product page works out the quantity from your wall's width and height. Rebel Walls states its murals are free of PVC, plasticisers and heavy metals and printed with water-based inks, and advises against hanging them in bathrooms, on textured walls or on ceilings. Rolls and murals are printed to order, so allow three to four weeks for delivery within Australia; express is available.
Before you order
Order the sample first and look at it in the room's morning and evening light. Size rolled designs with the roll calculator; murals are sized on the product page. Woodland characters for a baby's room are in nursery wallpaper and kids' wallpaper; for every green we sell, see green wallpaper; for the wider family, botanical and wall murals. Our calm bedroom wallpaper guide is written for exactly this kind of design.
Questions we are asked about forest wallpaper
Does forest wallpaper make a room feel dark?
Pale, misty forests do the opposite and are among the calmest papers we sell. Deep green scenes absorb light, which is what you want in a dining room or study and what you might not want in a small south-facing bedroom. Look at the sample at night.
Roll or mural?
A roll for a repeating pattern that suits any wall and can be extended later; a mural when you want one scene sized to one wall. Read wallpaper versus wall murals.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery within Australia is $50 and most orders arrive within three to four weeks, because many designer papers are printed to order overseas. Express delivery is $150 and takes around ten business days. Shipping outside Australia is calculated at checkout.
Can I get a sample first?
Yes. A4 samples are A$10 each plus A$5 postage within Australia, A$18 to New Zealand and A$35 elsewhere, sent by letter mail and usually with you within a week.
