Tropical & Jungle Wallpaper
Palm fronds, banana leaves and deep jungle greens: tropical wallpaper is the fastest way to give a room a permanently-on-holiday feeling, and it is a Queensland and coastal New South Wales favourite for good reason. The collection holds 40 designs, from Catherine Martin's La Palma and Royal Peacock to Rebel Walls jungle murals, Casamance's textured palms and Versace's Giungla Palm. Twenty-five are sold by the roll from $244 and the rest are murals priced by the square metre from $106. Every design is available as a $10 sample, with $5 postage within Australia.
Buying guide and questions we are asked
How to choose a tropical wallpaper
Go maximal or go breezy, but decide which. A full jungle print belongs in a dining room, a powder room or an entry, where you pass through rather than sit for hours; small rooms carry big pattern brilliantly. A spaced palm motif on a light ground is the one to live with in a bedroom or sunroom. Deep greens ground a room and forgive a lot; lighter tropical prints lift one. Scale matters more here than in any other style: a frond that looks delicate on a phone can be half a metre long on the wall, so check the repeat on the product page and order the sample.
The designs Australians order most
La Palma by Catherine Martin is the most ordered design in the store, not only in this collection, and Royal Peacock from the same range is the next most ordered and sampled. After them come Sandberg's jungle print Moa, Versace's Giungla Palm, Sandberg's Tom, a banana-leaf print on a pale pink ground, and Catherine Martin's Monkey Business.
What we stock and how it is sold
Rolled designs list their width, length, repeat and match under Product Details; most are non-woven and hang paste-the-wall, and they are printed to order, so allow three to four weeks. The Rebel Walls and Sandberg murals are printed to your wall size: enter the width and height on the product page and the price is calculated by the square metre. Designers fitting out cafés, hotels and offices can apply for trade pricing.
Before you order
Run the wall through the roll calculator, tape the sample up in the room's brightest and dullest corners, and look at the greens against your floor. Related collections: botanical, coastal and nautical, green wallpaper and Catherine Martin.
Questions we are asked about tropical wallpaper
Is tropical wallpaper too much for a whole room?
For most rooms, yes: one wall is the rule, two facing walls at most. The exception is a powder room or a small entry, where papering every wall makes the pattern feel intentional rather than loud.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
Bathrooms need a dry, sealed wall and good ventilation, and some brands advise against steamy rooms altogether; read wallpaper in bathrooms and kitchens first. Outdoor and wet areas are not suitable for any of these papers.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery within Australia is $50 and most orders arrive within three to four weeks, because many designer papers are printed to order overseas. Express delivery is $150 and takes around ten business days. Shipping outside Australia is calculated at checkout.
Can I get a sample first?
Yes. Samples are A$10 each plus A$5 postage within Australia, A$18 to New Zealand and A$35 elsewhere, sent by letter mail and usually with you within a week.
