Harry Potter™ Wallpaper: The Complete Guide
Official Harry Potter™ wallpaper is one of the most searched-for wall designs in Australia — and one of the most misunderstood. This guide covers the four official designs we stock, which rooms they suit, how the made-to-measure murals work, and honest answers to the questions we get every week.
The four official designs
The Black Family Tapestry — the famous family tree from Grimmauld Place, in rich faded golds and greens. Our most-loved design. It reads as a genuinely beautiful heritage print first and a fan piece second, which is why it works in living rooms and studies, not just themed bedrooms.
The Marauder's Map — inky footprints, secret passages and staircases in aged parchment tones. Brilliant in bedrooms, teen retreats and hallways ("I solemnly swear I am up to no good" energy included at no extra charge).
The Hogwarts Library — floor-to-ceiling shelves of ancient spellbooks. The clever one for home offices and reading corners: on video calls it just looks like a magnificent bookshelf.
The Daily Prophet — a monochrome collage of wizarding newsprint. The most understated of the four, and the easiest to pair with existing furniture.
Which room?
- Kids' bedrooms: Marauder's Map or the Tapestry behind the bed. One feature wall is plenty — let the design be the hero.
- Teen rooms: Daily Prophet or Marauder's Map. Both age well past the fan phase.
- Home theatres & media rooms: the Tapestry's deep tones absorb light beautifully — a proper cinema feel.
- Studies & libraries: Hogwarts Library, obviously. It never gets old.
How the murals work
These are made-to-measure wall murals: you give us your wall dimensions and the mural is printed to suit, arriving as numbered panels that hang in order like a big jigsaw. Measure your wall width and height (twice!), then follow our mural hanging guide. Most walls take an afternoon.
Honest answers to common questions
Is it really official? Yes — every design in our Harry Potter™ collection is an official licensed product.
Is it peel and stick? No — these are paste-the-wall murals. On Australian plasterboard that's the better system for a large mural: stronger hold, no lifting corners, and still clean to remove when the fan grows up. Here's how paste-the-wall works.
Can I do just part of a wall? Yes — because each mural is printed for your dimensions, alcoves, stair walls and half-walls are all fine. Email us the measurements if you're unsure.
What about rentals? Paste-the-wall paper removes cleanly from sound painted walls, but always check with your landlord first — or see our renters' guide.
