  • Whether old wallpaper needs to come off first

Does Wallpaper Trader install wallpaper?

No. We sell the wallpaper. The installers on this page are independent businesses, and you book and pay them directly.

Should I buy the wallpaper before booking an installer?

Order a $10 sample first to check the colour in your own light, then order the rolls. Book the installer once the paper has arrived and you've checked it.

How many rolls do I need?

Use our roll calculator. Installers generally like you to order about 10% extra for pattern matching, because running short partway through a job is the expensive mistake.

Does old wallpaper need to come off first?

It depends on the wall and what's already on it, so ask the installer when you call, because it changes the quote. If you'd rather do that part yourself, see our guide to removing old wallpaper.
