Diane Hill x Rebel Walls Wallpaper
Diane Hill is a British illustrator known for hand-painted chinoiserie, and her collaboration with Rebel Walls, the Swedish mural house, turns those watercolour birds, blossoms and trailing branches into made-to-measure wall murals. Each mural is printed to your wall size and sold by the square metre from $106. Every design is available as an A4 sample, posted worldwide.

About the collaboration
Diane Hill paints in the tradition of eighteenth-century Chinese export wallpaper, with peonies, magnolia, cranes and songbirds on soft grounds, and Rebel Walls prints the artwork to order at its facilities in Borås, Sweden. Rebel Walls states that its wallpapers are non-toxic and free from heavy metals, plasticizers and PVC, with a water-based matte finish. Because a mural is scaled to your wall there is no repeat to allow for; enter width and height on the product page and the price is calculated for you.
Where it works
Chinoiserie murals suit rooms where people sit and look: dining rooms, bedrooms behind the bed, powder rooms and entrance halls. Read our mural hanging guide before the numbered strips arrive, and allow three to four weeks for printing in Sweden and delivery. The wider Chinoiserie collection gathers every hand-painted bird-and-blossom design we stock.
