How to use black wallpaper

A black ground makes every other colour in a pattern glow, which is why black-ground florals and jungles look richer than the same design on white. Black suits rooms you want to feel enclosed and deliberate: a powder room, a study, a dining room, the wall behind a bed. It absorbs light, so plan the lamps, keep the ceiling pale, and paper one wall unless the room is small and windowless, in which case papering all four can be the braver and better choice.

Yes. A4 samples are A$10 each plus A$5 postage within Australia, A$18 to New Zealand and A$35 elsewhere, sent by letter mail and usually with you within a week. Colour is the one thing a screen cannot settle, so we recommend it.
